Mom Life

I keep it real! Good, bad, and ugly. Motherhood is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Even though I wouldn't change a thing doesn't mean I enjoy being covered in my kid's shit, or breastfeeding every 2 hours, or dealing with a teething crazy. Being a mom is HARD work. There are so many ups and downs that you face every day. Balance doesn't exist, and there are days I cry over spilled milk (legit if you've ever split 6oz of freshly pumped milk you know what I'm talking about)

Yesterday she was having a rough day. We were both pretty frustrated with each other. Nap time wasn't going well we usually will go outside for a walk to reset when we have days like this, but the baby was sleeping, and it was DOWN POURING out. It was the type of rain that is noticeably loud. She ran over to the window by the door and pointed out and told me it was raining. I told her yes it was raining and we'd go outside lat...

There is that quote "long days, short years" I've never felt that to be true than watching my kids grow. Mattie Shay turned TWO today and I honestly don't know where the time went. When you have a baby people tell you not to blink but you don't realize what they mean until you blink and suddenly your baby girl you were JUST holding in your arms after she was born is TWO!!

Watching this little girl grow has been such an amazing...

I used to shoot boudoir photography almost exclusively for three years. Over those three years, I photographed over 800 women. I worked with women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Out of alllllll, the women I worked with the ones that were mothers were always the most self-conscious about their bodies. I had women apologizing to me for their stretch marks or the few extra pounds they were carrying since having a baby. At...

Nesting with baby #2 was was more intense than with #1. This time around I not only had the urge to make everything squeaky clean but I was putting things in the donation pile faster than I could keep up with. If it wasn't currently serving a purpose I got rid of it. After having one baby you realize how much stuff you DON'T really need.  I feel like I had every gadget and baby thing under the sun. This time around we had a ve...

My mom threw me the most adorable shabby chic teal themed baby sprinkle to celebrate baby number two! She as always outdid herself on decor, it was so beautiful! If you've never heard of a baby sprinkle it's like a baby shower but more chill & low key. It's normally just a few close friends and family who gather around to eat food and celebrate the new baby! We had an amazing baby shower to with both sides of the family to cel...

Pregnant with baby number two and it has been 100% different than being pregnant with baby number one. My pregnancy with my daughter there was so many unknowns. I don't even want to know what my google history looked like back then. I had way more fears surrounding childbirth and just pregnancy in general. I think part of it was because it was my first and part of it was because I didn't truly educate myself on certain things...

I'm so excited I was able to team up with inVitiman to test out some of their AMAZING natural beauty products. If you have followed me for a while you know I am a huge dork when it comes to what I put into my body for food. Yes, I'm one of THOSE people who buys organic, non-gmo, and thinks coconut oil solves real-life problems. I've been eating clean for almost 3 years but it took me a little longer to come to terms with the b...

5 Rules Of Summer | Life With A Toddler

SUMMER is here! Time for watermelon, sand between your toes, and hopefully not go into heat stroke from the toddler who has attached themselves to your body like a leach even if it's 101 degrees out. Summer to me as a kid used to mean a break from school schedules and routines... As a pregnant mama to a toddler living in Florida? Summer means it's too effing hot to go play at the playgro...

10 Things Moms Are Doing That Means She Is Rocking Mommyhood

Being a mom is no doubt the most fantastic thing ever, but some days it can be the hardest thing you could ever imagine. In today's world, social media can be so in your face. People only put out there what they want others to see and often being a mom seems like this flawless job when in reality it's not so perfect. When the only thing you have to compare yourself to...

Why I Didn't Take My Husband's Last Name

Society norms are weird. This wacky traditional of marital name changes came from the property shift that occurred at the time of marriage. Basically, women went from being owned by her family to becoming her new husband's property.  Back when women had no independent legal identity apart from their spouse. (EW)

Taking your husband's last name is such a regular thing in today's society th...
